“Working Comfort” equipment for FOAMplus

A new service software product launched for use with the foam padding system FOAMplus® from Storopack allows selection of the right bag size and filling by barcode.

All the packer needs to do is scan the marking on the transport packaging and press a button to dispense the specific foam bag required for the consignment in question. At the same time, photos or videos at a computer screen illustrate how to best position the packing material and goods in the package.

This radically simplifies the process of instructing new employees who may have language difficulties, practically eliminating the possibility of operating and application errors and increasing productivity at the packaging station. Read the rest of this entry »

Industry split on drug barcoding from July

Every Indian-origin drug will be counted and have its history documented soon. From July, each drug exported will have its packaging adequately laced with bar codes so that at any point during the supply chain or afterwards, if doubts are cast on the quality or efficacy of an India-made drug, the roots of the product can be traced back from the pharmacy to the factory and leakages and accountability fixed.

The notification to mandate such barcoding has come from the ministry of commerce earlier this year even as the drug controller general of India (DCGI) plans to make such coding mandatory for all drugs-even those distributed and sold within the country-a decision challenged by drugmakers in the Allahabad High Court.  Ok. Today we are rambling a little off topic. If you are anything like me, who enjoys a good bottle of wine, you will find that its almost impossible to remember the name of the wine you had at the restaurant last Monday. One method in remembering is to keep the corks.
